Habitat ReStore 686 accepts new and used building materials, appliances, home decor, exercise equipment, and much more from individuals, retailers, businesses and contractors. Habitat Clothing Center accepts clothing and accessories.

These good quality items are sold to the general public at a fraction of retail prices, with all proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity to help build more affordable housing for Rutherford County.

First Weekend Sale

On the first Friday and Saturday of every month, the Habitat ReStores hold a huge sale!

At ReStore 686, the ReStore Director chooses a percentage off the total sale. Your discount is given at the register as you check out.  There are some exclusions – items purchased for sale by the ReStore are not included.

At the Habitat Clothing Center there are frequent flash sales and a clearance corner so visit often!

Veterans receive a 10% discount every day!

It’s our way of thanking our veterans for their service. Just show your veteran ID card at the register for your savings. There are some exclusions – items purchased for sale by the ReStore are not included.

ReStore Hours, Locations and Staff

Jimmy Okpych

As the ReStore Director, Jimmy is responsible for managing all phases of the ReStore program including fund-raising and fostering support with partners in the community, developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing the operations for both ReStores, ensuring accountability to funding sources and the Board of Directors, and implementing marketing and community relations for the ReStores.

Wanda Harris

As the ReStore 686 Manager, Wanda manages the day-to-day operations. Duties include planning and organization of the store and managing the day-to-day activities within the store.

James Ruppe

James began in the ReStore as a volunteer.  When it was decided to add an Assistant Manager, he was the obvious choice due to his dedication, work ethic, and commitment to excellence.  James assists Wanda Harris with keeping the store organized, stocked and neat.

Stacey Brown

As the ReStore Clothing Center Manager, Stacey manages the day-to-day operations. Her duties include planning and organization of the store, its staff and volunteers.

A Habitat ReStore accepts new and used items from individuals, retailers, businesses, and contractors. These good quality items are sold to the public at a fraction of retail prices, with all proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.

YES! Anyone and everyone can donate and shop at our ReStores!  No membership is required.

Daily! We accept donations every day we are open.

Brand new items are priced 40% off retail value. Other items, depending on the condition, are priced between 50% – 90% off retail value.

No. Our ReStore does not negotiate on prices with customers. Items that have been on the shelves for a certain period of time may be reduced in price by ReStore staff, but please remember, the proceeds from our store go directly to Habitat for Humanity and this is not a flea market.

No. The materials are sold in the Habitat ReStores, with the proceeds of the store sales going to the local Habitat for Humanity.

Bring your donated items to the ReStore. If your items are too large for you to bring to us, call us at 828-245-1698 and let us know what you have. We will tell you if we are able to accept them or not and arrange for a pick-up at no charge to you. If you bring your donated materials to the ReStore, we will give you a coupon worth 10% off your purchase for the next time you are shopping in the store.

Yes. Please call 828-245-1698 to schedule a pick-up. There is no charge for this service.

Yes. Habitat ReStore is part of Habitat for Humanity and is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization. Donations can receive a potential tax deduction in accordance with IRS guidelines.

Can ReStore put a value on the items I donate?

No. We cannot place a value on any donations for tax purposes. This is the responsibility of the donor and tax professionals.

All sales at ReStore are final. The only exception to this is with appliances and electrical items. Appliances have a 14-day return policy. Beyond that, we do not accept returns. An electrical item (i.e., items with an electrical cord attached) that was sold as working may be returned and a store credit issued for the amount of the purchase if you find that it does not work.  

No. Each ReStore is individually operated by the Habitat for Humanity affiliate office in that area. This means they do not all carry the same items, prices, policies, hours, etc.
