Faith Works

Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead.” James 2:17

What is it?  A group of churches that come together to raise money, provide labor and prayer support to build a house in partnership with a local family. Habitat gives churches the opportunity to share God’s love by building houses.

You are invited to join together with other members of your church to form a team to contribute a Saturday to helping build the “Genesis” house, for a family who would otherwise not be able to have a safe, decent, affordable home.  You and the teams from other churches in Rutherford County can put your faith to work by being part of the Rutherford County Faith Works Coalition to build one house in 2018 with a partner family so that they may become home owners and begin to have a better life.

While helping to build the “Genesis” house you will have the opportunity to meet and work with the Habitat partner family, hear the family’s story first hand and realize the difference you are making in their lives.  Faith Works gives your church a tangible way to be the “hands and feet” of God’s love and compassion in our county.

No prior construction or Habitat experience is required to work on our site.  Volunteers, ages 18 to 80, of all different skill levels are welcome to work with us.  Volunteers will be involved in all phases of home building including framing, roofing, siding, painting, flooring, landscaping.

What if there are not enough people at your church able to help out, but you still want to work?  Sign up the people who are willing to be part of Faith Works and you can be partnered with other small churches and/or individuals.
